Creating Your Account
Creating a Zeturi account takes less than a minute. You'll need an email address and a strong password. Your mobile number is optional but recommended for security.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Go to the Signup Page
Visit /signup or click "Get started" from the homepage - Enter Your Email
Use a valid email address you have access to. You'll need to verify it. - Add Your Mobile Number (Optional)
South African mobile numbers only. This helps with account recovery and two-factor authentication. - Create a Strong Password
Your password must meet these requirements:- At least 8 characters long
- Upper and lower case letters
- At least one number
- At least one symbol (e.g., !, @, #, $)
- Confirm Your Password
Type your password again to make sure it matches - Click "Create Account"
The system will check if your email is already registered
If you see "This email is already registered", you already have an account. Click "Sign in instead" to log in with your existing credentials.
Email Verification
After submitting the signup form, you'll see a "Check your email" screen.
- Check Your Inbox
Look for an email from Zeturi with subject "Verify your email" - Click the Verification Link
The link is valid for 24 hours and can only be used once - Complete Your Profile
You'll be redirected to the profile setup page to add your name and details
Check your spam or junk folder. If you still don't see it, click "Use a different email" and try again with another email address.
Profile Setup
After verifying your email, you'll need to complete your profile:
Required Information
- First Name – Your given name
- Last Name – Your surname
- Mobile Number – If not provided during signup (South African numbers only)
- Date of Birth – Format: YYYY-MM-DD (e.g., 1990-05-15)
Optional Information
- ID Number – South African ID number for verification
- Address – Physical address
- Emergency Contact – Name, relationship, and mobile number
Your personal information is protected under POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act). We only collect what's necessary and never share your data without your consent.
Security Features
Password Requirements
Zeturi enforces strong password requirements to protect your account. Your password must:
- Be at least 8 characters long
- Include both uppercase and lowercase letters
- Contain at least one number
- Have at least one special character (!@#$%^&*)
- Not be a common password (e.g., "Password123!")
Two-Factor Authentication (Recommended)
After creating your account, you can enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for extra security:
- Go to Profile Settings
Click your profile icon → Settings - Enable 2FA
Choose SMS or authenticator app - Verify Setup
Enter the code sent to your phone or shown in your app
Common Issues
Password Not Accepted
Make sure your password has uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. Error message: "Use upper and lower case letters, numbers and a symbol"
Verification Email Not Received
Email delivery can take 1-5 minutes. Check spam folder. If still missing after 10 minutes, try signing up again with the same email to resend the verification.
"Too Many Requests" Error
This happens if you try to sign up multiple times quickly. Wait a few minutes and try again.
What Happens Next?
After creating your account and completing your profile, you can:
Start a new stokvel, burial society, investment club, or property syndicate
If you received an invitation email, click the link to join an existing scheme
